To meet the demands of state economic reform and the enterprises of pharmaceutical machinery in China, the China Association For Pharmaceutical Equipment (CAPE) was established on March 26, 1992 at Beijing International Convention Centre. The move was supported by the former State Pharmaceutical Administration, approved by the China's Ministry of Civil Affairs and registered as public organization No.0677 on September 23,1991. 协会是由从事制药装备制造、科研、设计、检验、教学及相关企业的会员单位自愿组成的全国性的行业组织。是不受部门、地区和所有制限制的具有社团法人资格的社会经济团体。
CAPE is a national industry organization formed by members of entities concerned with pharmaceutical equipment production, scientific research, design, inspection and teaching. It is a social, economic and industrial organization for professionally qualified people and embraces all departments, regions and systems of ownership.
协会的宗旨是搞好"双向服务"，要在宏观上努力做好政府行业管理的助手和参谋，在微观上为制药装备企业和全国中、西制药厂服务。主要任务是反映企业要求，表达企业愿望，维护企业利益和合法权益；完成政府及有关部门委托和授权的各项工作，沟通上下关系，发挥政府与企业之间的桥梁和纽带作用。开展技术交流、技术咨询、技术培训、网络信息、行业统计、行检行评、质量监督，组织科技成果鉴定、参与制定产品标准、发布行业信息、主办国内外博览会以及政府交办的其他任务。
推动会员单位的科技进步和现代化的科学管理，引导会员单位开发新产品，打造品牌产品，积极参与两个市场的竞争，促进全行业技术、经济蓬勃发展。
The aim of CAPE is to provide services both for government and pharmaceutical equipment companies and also for pharmaceutical producers of traditional Chinese medicine and Western drugs in China. Its main task is to assist and advise government, act as an advocate and promote the industry. It also seeks to safeguard the lawful rights and interests of its members, and in carrying out duties entrusted to it by government and relevant departments, becomes the link between government and the industry. Develop technical alternating, technical consulting, technical training, network information, profession statistics and trip detection trip evaluate and quality supervisor, organize the accomplishment appraisal of science and technology , participate in established product standard , issue profession information , sponsor domestic and international fair as well as government to deliver the other tasks that done.
Promote modern scientific management and the advance of science and technology of member unit , guide member unit to develop new product , hit to make trademark product , participate in the competition of two markets actively , promote completely profession technical, economic vigorous development.
协会现有会员单位226家，40位理事，8位副理事长，11位常务理事。协会设有秘书处、会员管理部、技术经济部、网络信息部及展览部。
CAPE currently has 226 unit members, 40 directors, 8 deputy directors and 11 executive directors. It has set up a secretariat, an member management department, a technical and economic department, a network information department and an exhibition department.
制药装备行业从1978年始建至今，规模不断地发展壮大。目前，我国专产、兼产（以制药机械产品为主）的企业600余家，分布在全国26个省、市、自治区，可生产制造高效节能产品、发明创造产品、消化吸收产品、替代进口产品、国际水平产品、机电一体化产品等一大批符合GMP要求的产品，全行业工业总产值超过50亿元人民币。
The pharmaceutical equipment industry has burgeoned since 1978. There are now more than 600 enterprises in sole or part production of pharmaceutical machinery, spread over China's 26 provinces, cities and autonomous regions. These enterprises produce highly efficient, energy conserving products, invent new products, and develop and produce import substitutes to international standards and electro-mechanical equipment to GMP standard. The total output value is over 5 billion RMB.
全行业产品共分八大类，包括3000多个品种规格。如：
一、 原料药机械与设备类
摇瓶机、发酵罐、搪玻璃设备、结晶机、离心机、分离机、过滤设备、提取设备、蒸发器、回收设备、换热器、干燥箱、筛分设备、淀粉设备。
Products mainly cover 8 classifications. There are 3000-plus pharmaceutical machines of different types and specifications. For example:

五、 制药用水设备类

The equipment include not only sophisticated individual machines, but also complete auto production lines. A large number of top class advanced machines have been supplied to more than 6000 pharmaceutical factories producing traditional Chinese medicine and Western drugs, and several thousand health product enterprises in China. 自协会成立以来，先后接受原国家医药管理局，国家经济贸易委员会委托和授权的工作有：
一、 组织起草全国制药机械"八五"、"九五"、"十五"规划（草案）。
二、 组织制定、修订制药机械产品国家标准、行业标准。
三、 制药机械行业的统计工作。
四、 制药机械产品价格协调工作。
五、 对制药机械企业的重大基本建设、技术改造、产品开发项目进行前期论证。
六、 制药机械科技成果鉴定和推广应用工作；组织国内、国际制药机械企业之间的技术协作和技术交流。
七、 承办全国和国际制药机械博览会。
CAPE has been entrusted and authorized by the State Pharmaceutical Administration and the State Economic and Trade Commission with the follownig duties:
1． Organized and drafted the 8th, 9th and 10th Five Year Plan for pharmaceutical machinery.
2． Organized, formulated and revised the state and industry standards for pharmaceutical products.
3． Statistics for pharmaceutical machinery.
4． Coordinated prices for the pharmaceutical machinery industry.
5． Evaluation for important projects of capital construction, technology upgrades and new product development for the pharmaceutical machinery industry.
6． Appraise and promote scientific and technological achievements for pharmaceutical machinery, organize technological cooperation and exchanges between domestic and international pharmaceutical machinery companies.
7． Organize and stage national and international pharmaceutical machinery expos.
根据广大供、需双方的要求，协会作了大量方方面面行业管理基础性工作，编辑、出版了技术指导书、工具书以及参考资料等。广大中、西制药厂、制药机械厂、包装材料厂、医院、大专院校、科研设计、检验监测等单位的读者颇感急需、免除四处查询而不得之苦。

为了拓宽国内、外流通渠道，沟通产销信息，扩大产品交易，促进技术交流，提高全行业的产品质量、水平、档次和企业的知名度。为使博览会更加专业化、规范化、国际化、品牌化、做大搞活国内外博览会，创出制药机械博览会亚洲第一，成为专业信息和产品的集散地、经销地。协会于1991年至今，已成功举办了24届全国制药机械博览会。继而在国外壮观而又圆满地完成了五届中国制药机械博览会。为制药装备行业走向国际市场、参与国际竞争、广泛开展国际交流营造了一个极为活跃的国际贸易氛围。赴泰国、印度尼西亚、巴基斯坦等国家办展，贸易活跃、销售兴旺、收效斐然，留机率（留购）达80%以上。众多用户，大会结束，流连忘返，影响之深，令人瞩目。
To widen the channels for commodity circulation at home and abroad, communicate the information of production and marketing , increase production business, promote technical exchange and raise the notability of the enterprises and the level, class and the product quality of the whole pharmaceutical equipment industry. The CAPE has successfully conducted 24 national pharmaceutical equipment Expos in China since 1991 and 5 pharmaceutical equipment Expos abroad respectively. The expos have created a very good opportunity for Chinese pharmaceutical equipment enterprises to entering international market, participating international competition and carrying out international exchange etc. The exhibitions in Thailand, Indonesia and Pakistan were very successful, selling more than 80% of displayed machinery .
协会还负责不定期组团参观国际制药机械博览会，力争改进和突破陈旧观念，开阔眼界，广交朋友，为多方涉猎相关科学、消化吸收先进经验、提高产品水平，提供了良好的机遇和条件。
CAPE also organizes non-scheduled delegation to visit international pharmaceutical machinery expos,which provided good opportunity for Chinese enterprises to widen their horizons,improve and break through their out-of-date idea and study related science and advanced technology and experience from others.
协会肩负着定期举办每年两次的国际、国内技术交流和讲座任务，对推动科技进步，促进产品更新换代，提高企业素质、增强企业创新能力，起着事半功倍之效。已办28次国际技术交流，40多次国内技术交流以及承办了产品标准、行业统计、药品生产质量管理规范等各类专题培训班。
CAPE also holds international and domestic lectures on technology exchanges twice a year to promote science and technology development, replace older-generation products, and increase company competitiveness. CAPE has held 28 international lectures and 40 domestic lectures on technology exchanges. It has held a range of trainning class of special subject on standards, statistics and Good Manufacture Practice (GMP) etc.

CAPE has set up a website-China Pharmaceutical Machinery Web, a dynamic interactive professional site.The site is to enhance the professional information exchange and cooperation in technology, economy and commerce both at home and abroad and enlarge the application and development of technology of information and network as well. With the help of CAPE members,the site has become a date bank from previous webpage and from the way of static to dynamic interactive. The day click rate has increased to 1859 times, land frequency increase to more than fifty thousands. The highest information flow rate has reached to 52 Mb bytes every week.
